Lead Software EngineerBusiness-to-Business (B2B) Payments within Commercial Tech is seeking an influential engineering leader who can transform and build the next-generation digital platform that enables the organization to meet its customers' needs.
This person will bring solid experience in emerging and traditional technologies such as Java/J2EE, REST, JSON, Docker, Oracle databases, JavaScript, JavaScript frameworks, and open source frameworks.
What You'll Do:
Leverage sound judgment and problem solving to transform and modernize a critical, client-facing B2B Payments digital platform and connect the dots to broader implications of the workDrive awareness and adoption of cutting-edge technologies, sharing the customer benefits to gain buy-in; ensure required education occurs to maximize benefit from all usersStrike the right balance between lending expertise and providing an inclusive environment where others' ideas can be heard and championedPromote a culture of engineering excellence and being well-managed, using opportunities to reuse and innersource code where possibleEffectively communicate with and influence key stakeholders across the enterpriseLead the way in creating next-generation talent for tech, mentoring internal talent and actively recruiting external talent to bolster Capital One's Tech talentContinuously improve software engineering practices, leading the craftsmanship, availability, resilience and scalability of your solutionsDefine and implement a strategy and architecture for the teams' critical projectsCreate a culture of quality and engineering led innovationEncourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversityBasic
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree At least 7 years of software engineering experience using Java or J2EEAt least 5 years experience with database technologies using Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQLAt least 4 years experience developing and scaling customer facing web platforms using Angular or ReactAt least 4 years of experience using Web Logic serverAt least 3 years experience in Cloud Platforms using AWS or AzurePreferred
Qualifications:
Master's Degree3
years of experience in Agile practices4
